I love finding new ways to approach complex problems. Most recently, I have been working with Carbon Health to build out a Virtual Primary Care program to explore how this model can provide solutions to the crises of both physician and patient burnout. I have worked as a provider with Maven Clinic and Grand Rounds (now Included Health), and was part of Iora Health’s first Primary Care Innovation + Leadership Academy. I am currently pursuing a certificate in Futures Studies and Speculative Design with Parsons School of Design.

After medical school at UCSF and residency in Boise, Idaho, I served as a family medicine/obstetrics physician in an integrative primary care practice in Portland, Oregon. I worked alongside midwives to explore how we can provide a more gentle and woman-centered transition into motherhood. We provided clients with pregnancy, birth, postpartum, and pediatric care with a focus on care continuity within a small team and a safe alternative to a home birth experience. My practice was guided in part by time I spent during residency with an experienced physician running a natural birth center in Guadalajara, Mexico. I also provided comprehensive primary care to patients of all ages.

I left that practice to join a project to re-design how we measure and think about modeling future impact in reproductive health and family planning with the Institute for Disease Modeling at the Gates Foundation. We designed and published the first open-source, individual-level, woman-centered model of family planning, available for use by the public health, policy, and research communities. I am fluent in Python, Pandas, and GitHub.

I hold nine state licenses including CA, TX, FL, OR, ID, PA, MA, NH, and ME and am certified by the American Board of Family Medicine.
